Troubleshooting Guide: 702BS Not Syncing Motorcycle Tire Pressure Data

Dear BMW Motorcycle Owners,

If you are having trouble syncing tire pressure information using your 702BS device,(All the following issues and solutions also apply to 502BS)don’t worry! We’ve put together a detailed troubleshooting guide to help you quickly identify and fix the issue, so your device can work as expected.

Step 1: Confirm Your BMW Motorcycle Has Built-in Tire Pressure Monitoring

The first thing to check is whether your BMW motorcycle comes with an OEM tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS). The 702BS device can only sync tire pressure information if your motorcycle already has the factory-installed TPMS. If your bike does not have this feature, syncing the tire pressure data via 702BS will not be possible, as the device cannot access non-existent tire pressure data.

How to Confirm If Your Motorcycle Has TPMS:

  • Check the owner’s manual: Look in the "Vehicle Functions" or "Display Settings" section for any mention of "Tire Pressure Monitoring."

  • Inspect the motorcycle dashboard: If you see a tire pressure icon or can access tire pressure readings through the dashboard, your bike likely has TPMS.

  • Contact your authorized BMW dealer: Provide your motorcycle’s VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) to confirm whether TPMS is part of the original factory configuration.

Step 2: Update the 702BS Device Software to the Latest Version

Outdated software versions may cause compatibility issues, leading to failed tire pressure data sync. Updating the software is a common and effective solution to fix sync problems and enhance device stability.

How to Update the 702BS Software:

  1. Open the main screen of the 702BS device and tap on the “Settings” icon.

  2. In the menu, select the “MPEG OTA” option.

  3. Connect the 702BS to a stable Wi-Fi network (ensure the network signal is strong to avoid interruptions during the update).

  4. The device will automatically check for the latest version. If an update is available, click “Download" and "Upgrade.”

  5. Do not disconnect the network or power off the device during the update. Once complete, the device will automatically restart.

  6. After restarting, reconnect the motorcycle and check if the tire pressure information syncs correctly.

Step 3: For BMW Motorcycles Without OEM TPMS: Install Aftermarket TPMS Accessories

If your BMW motorcycle does not have the factory-installed TPMS, but you are using compatible aftermarket TPMS sensors, and your software is up to date, yet syncing still fails, follow these steps:

Steps for Using Aftermarket TPMS with 702BS:

  1. Check and install compatible tire pressure sensors: The 702BS requires special BMW motorcycle-compatible tire pressure sensors. Ensure your bike is equipped with these sensors and that they are compatible with your 702BS device.

  2. Enable TPMS Option on 702BS:

    • Open the 702BS device, go to "Settings" → "System Version."

    • Tap the version number 8 times to access the TPMS option, then enable it.

    • After a few minutes, return to the tire pressure monitoring display page to check if the tire pressure information now appears.

Watch the video to see the detailed operation steps of TPMS.

Additional Tips:

  • If, after following the steps above, tire pressure data still doesn’t sync, please record the following details:

    • Device model

    • Software version

    • Motorcycle model and VIN number
