Generally Compatible: Google Pixel, most Samsung flagship models, and other mainstream Android devices

Dear Carpuride users, to ensure you have a smooth experience with the wireless connection function of our product, we are providing a detailed explanation of the compatibility with Android devices based on actual user feedback and specialized test data for your reference.

Currently, we have received feedback regarding connection issues from some models of Huawei, Xiaomi, Redmi, Samsung, and Oppo. However, it is important to note that compatibility issues are not universal for entire brands, and a large number of models under the same brand can still be properly adapted. The stability of wireless connection is affected by multiple factors such as device hardware configuration, system version, and customized ROM optimization. The specific adaptation situation needs to be judged based on the actual usage scenario.

1. Confirmed Incompatible Models

After repeated testing and verification, the following models cannot support the wireless connection function of this product due to hardware communication module adaptation limitations or system characteristics:

  • Huawei P series: All models (including P30, P30 Pro, P40, P50, etc.)
  • Huawei Mate series: All models (including Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 30, Mate 40, etc.)
  • All devices running HarmonyOS: All Huawei devices equipped with HarmonyOS have not yet achieved compatibility due to differences in the system's distributed architecture and connection protocols

⚠️ Important: If your device is in this category, we recommend using a wired connection (only available on select older car CarPlay models) or using a compatible Android device.

2. Models with Potential Compatibility Issues

The following models may experience unstable connection, disconnection, or pairing failure in some usage scenarios. These devices have the possibility of incompatibility, but many issues can be resolved through troubleshooting steps outlined in Section 4:

  • Samsung series: Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy S20, Galaxy A20 (model SM-A205G), Galaxy M22
  • Xiaomi series: 12 Pro, 11 Lite, Redmi 9
  • Oppo series: Reno 2, Reno 2 Z, A16S

3. Generally Compatible Devices

Based on user feedback and testing, the following devices typically work well with Carpuride wireless connection:

  • Google Pixel series: Pixel 6, 7, 8, 9 and their Pro variants
  • Samsung flagship series: Galaxy S21 Ultra, S22 Ultra, S23 Ultra, S24 series
  • Other brands: Most mainstream Android devices running stock or near-stock Android with updated system software

💡 Tip: Devices running stock Android or Android One typically have better compatibility. Make sure your Android Auto app and phone system are up to date.

4. Troubleshooting Steps for Connection Issues

If your phone cannot connect to the Carpuride device to use Android Auto, please try the following methods in order:

Step 4: Reset Bluetooth and Network Settings

  1. Forget the Carpuride device from your phone's Bluetooth settings
  2. Restart both your phone and Carpuride device
  3. Re-pair the devices following the initial setup instructions

5. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1: My phone is not on any of the lists above. Will it work with Carpuride?

A: Most likely yes! If your phone is not listed in the incompatible or potential issues sections, it should work with Carpuride wireless connection. Make sure you have Android Auto installed and your phone's system is up to date.

Q2: Can I use a wired connection instead of wireless?

A: It depends on your Carpuride model:

  • Motorcycle products: All motorcycle models support wireless connection only
  • Car CarPlay products: Some older car models support both wireless and wired connections via USB cable, while most newer car models support wireless connection only
  • Please check your specific model's product page or user manual to confirm whether wired connection is supported

Q3: Will future updates improve compatibility with HarmonyOS devices?

A: Our technical team is actively working on compatibility improvements for HarmonyOS and other problematic models. We will announce updates through our official channels when new compatibility is achieved.

Q4: My phone worked before but suddenly stopped connecting. What should I do?

A: This is often caused by Android Auto app updates. Try Step 1 in the troubleshooting section (uninstall Android Auto updates) first. If that doesn't work, proceed through the other troubleshooting steps.

Q5: Does the Android version matter for compatibility?

A: Yes, Android Auto requires Android 8.0 (Oreo) or higher. For the best experience, we recommend Android 10 or newer. Older Android versions may have limited functionality or connection issues.

Q6: Can I test compatibility before purchasing?

A: We recommend checking our compatibility list and contacting customer service at service@carpuride.com with your specific phone model and Android version before purchasing. Some retailers may also offer return policies if compatibility issues arise.

6. Customer Support and Service

If your device is in the "confirmed incompatible" range, to ensure your usage experience, we recommend that you use a compatible Android device. For select older car CarPlay models that support wired connection, you may use a USB cable as an alternative.

Carpuride always prioritizes user experience. Currently, we have joined hands with the technical team to carry out adaptation and R&D work for HarmonyOS and typical problematic models of various brands, and plan to gradually expand the compatibility range through product firmware updates.
