Initially, the company focused on trading USB drives and related electronic accessories such as data cables, chargers, and card readers. At the time, Carpuride was a typical trading company without its manufacturing facilities, relying solely on Amazon to reach global markets. While this approach helped us establish a foothold, it also imposed significant limitations on product innovation, iteration, and after-sales service.
As global consumers demanded higher quality products and services, Carpuride’s founder, William, realized that owning a factory and building a brand was essential to meeting these evolving needs. In 2018, Carpuride’s factory was established, marking a turning point that laid the foundation for the brand's future success.
One winter night in 2017, William embarked on a journey to meet a client in an unfamiliar city. Driving his 2008 Jetta, he faced a series of challenges that would change the course of Carpuride’s history. Without a built-in car navigation system, he relied on his smartphone for directions. However, the small screen, cumbersome operation, and low battery created a perfect storm of frustration. To keep the phone alive, he used a car charger, only to find the device overheating and the navigation lagging badly. Distracted and stressed, William narrowly avoided accidents and ultimately missed his meeting, costing the company a valuable client.
Exhausted and reflective, he returned home and stared at his car keys. The idea struck him: What if there was a portable device to bring the functionality of luxury car systems to older vehicles? Several months later, the Carpuride W701 portable car screen was born. As Carpuride’s first in-house product, every detail—from software design to mold development, and even the final tests—bore William's personal touch. Upon launch, the W701 quickly became a bestseller on Amazon, earning acclaim for its innovation and performance.
The success of the W701 revealed a significant market opportunity. William wasted no time expanding Carpuride’s factory and product lines, introducing new models to cater to diverse customer needs. To reach regions outside Amazon’s network, Carpuride launched its independent brand website in 2018, extending its global reach.
